The Kurds are shocked by Israel’s silence and by the fact that Israel has not come to their defense.

“Many Kurdish people have written to me about their loyalty and devotion toward Israel, and about their expectation that Israel would intervene in order to safeguard them. 

It has therefore deeply shocked the Kurdish people that Israel has not come to their defense. At a time when Israel has been so unfairly maligned around the world, its silence in the face of the suffering of these minorities is particularly irksome.

I do not want any nefarious entity—such as the Iranian so-called Islamic Republic, which, as a Muslim, I prefer to call the Iranian Islamist Republic—to ridicule the Kurds, who were forever anticipating the West and Israel as loyal allies. This is the real danger of such abandonment.”
