To condemn the isolation imposed on the leader of the Kurdish people Abdullah Ocalan and the threats of the Turkish state to areas of northern and eastern Syria, hundreds of people from ed-Dirbasiya and its villages, as well as the hunger strikers took part in a protest in ed-Dirbasiya city.
The residents gathered at the Martyrs' Square on Serê Kaniyê road, where the hunger strike tent was set up. The demonstration started from the Martyrs Square towards the center of the area, and the demonstrators chanted the slogans saluting the resistance of People and Women Protection Units (YPG, YPJ) demanding the freedom for Ocalan.
The demonstrators toured the main streets in the area reaching the center of the district, where the demonstrators gathered to turn the demonstration into a mass rally, where speeches were delivered on behalf of the participating delegations.
The speech of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) was delivered by Delal Younis which included, "The conspiracy against the leader Ocalan is against the freedom of the Kurdish people. Today, we have ended the hunger strike and we will continue to defend and work for the freedom of our leader."
She also condemned the threats of the Turkish state and its president Erdogan to launch attacks on northern and eastern Syria. She added, "Turkey, through its threats, aims to eliminate the peoples' fraternaty and the democratic nation in northern and eastern Syria, which was achieved thanks to the ideology and philosophy of the leader Ocalan."
The demonstration ended with chanting the slogans that call for the freedom of the Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan and denounce the Turkish threats.
