The IDF has attacked Damascus for a second time on Wednesday as amid escalating tensions sparked by a deadly crackdown on Druze civilians in Syria’s Sweida province, where at least 248 people have been killed. In addition to bolstering its military presence along the northern border with Syria, the IDF said early Wednesday afternoon that it attacked the entrance gate of the Syrian regime's General Staff military headquarters in the Damascus area. A second attack came later Wednesday afternoon. As well as a report that there was an attack on the rear of the People's Palace - al-Shara'a's official residence in Damascus.

The attack is shown live, with a loud explosion visible in the background of the SyriaTV broadcast. Defense Minister Israel Katz posted the video on his X account (formerly Twitter), writing: "The painful blows have begun."Israel has now hit both the Ministry of Defense building and the Presidential palace in #Damascus. At the same time, protests have arisen in #Jaramana, with protesters removing the Syrian flag.
