The #United_Nations_Human_Rights Office on Friday, August 29, 2025, reported a shocking increase in executions in Iran. The spokesman for the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, in Geneva, said that despite limited access to information, these statistics provide a relative but realistic picture of the dire human rights situation in Iran. He emphasized that a large proportion of these executions have been carried out disproportionately against ethnic minorities, especially Kurds, Baluchis, as well as Afghan refugees, a trend that clearly contradicts the principle of equality and judicial justice in international law.
