A rapid report claims that, on the orders of Donald Trump, a US Navy force aboard the aircraft carrier USS Tripoli, consisting of approximately 5,000 troops, has departed from Japan and is expected to arrive in the Persian Gulf on Saturday.
According to the report, the forces are expected to disembark on Kharg Island and other Iranian islands, and in the next stages, carry out operations in Tehran and several other cities. The stated goal of the operation is to open the Strait of Hormuz and destroy the Islamic Republic’s security facilities..In a video message, US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegsett announced a new program to test testosterone levels among the military, part of an effort to maintain “human superiority” on the battlefield.
Stressing that the US military’s most important tactical advantage is manpower, he announced that troops over the age of 30 would now undergo annual testosterone testing. The testing would be added to regular health assessments, and those under 30 could also participate if they wished.
Hegsett said the program was not intended to artificially enhance performance, but rather to “restore and optimize natural body function” and promote long-term health.
He added that testosterone replacement therapy would be completely optional if recommended by doctors.
Referring to the "harsh and brutal" conditions of the modern battlefield, the US Secretary of Defense emphasized that this measure helps maintain the physical, mental, and psychological readiness of troops and ensures that they remain at the highest level of operational capability.
Three US officials told Reuters that the recent wave of US strikes on Iran, aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz, is also targeting military capabilities that the US wants to destroy before launching more sophisticated operations in Iran. The strikes, they said, effectively give Donald Trump more military options, who has kept the world in suspense about his next move after informing Congress of the formal resumption of hostilities with Iran. One of the US officials said the strikes could be seen as a “preparatory operation” that is weakening defense capabilities in case a larger operation is ordered in the future. “These actions are preparing the ground if needed,” he said. However, Emran Bayoumi, a former Pentagon official who now works at the Atlantic Council, said Trump’s sweeping statements about Iran in recent days appear to be aimed at pressuring Tehran in negotiations and creating uncertainty about the U.S. military’s next steps. “I distinguish between hype and actual action,” he told Reuters. “I expect Trump’s conversations with his national security team to be somewhat different from what he’s posting online.”
