Citing informed U.S. and European officials, *The Wall Street Journal* reported that the United States abruptly withdrew 12 B-1 strategic bombers from Royal Air Force (RAF) Fairford in the UK on Sunday, driven by urgent concerns regarding a complex drone attack plot orchestrated by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
According to these officials, the scheme was part of a multi-pronged plot aimed at targeting the bombers and killing American personnel and pilots. Pointing to the threat posed by Iran-linked forces, Donald Trump told reporters, "We thought there was a potential risk, so why should I have left them there?" Additionally, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance emphasized that the relocation was carried out "out of an abundance of caution to protect the troops," adding that Washington is certain the Iranian side intends to continue terrorist activities.
