High level KCK visit to Sinjar


High level KCK visit to Sinjar.

A member of the KCK executive council, Zeki Şengali, has visited Sinjar and held some meetings.


Zeki Şengali observed the situation of the military powers and the situation of the people and emphasized the importance of collective joint resistance to deal with the ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and al Sham) gangs.

Zeki Şengali visited Sinjar and met the people stranded in the Sinjar mountains and the military commanders of the HPG (people’s defence forces) and HBŞ (Sinjar Resistance Forces) and he visited the tomb of Sherfeddin, a sacred space for Yezidi Kurds.

Zeki Şengali held a meeting with elders of the Yezidi kurds at the tomb. Kasım Şeşo, Haydar Şeşo, the former councillor of Mosul governership Sheik Davud and the president of the Yezidi aid agency, Said Ihsan, attended the meeting. Agit Civiyan, from the Sinjar command also attended the meeting.

Zeki Şengali was informed about the conditions of the people who didn’t leave Sinjar and about the necessary requirements. He also listened to the demands of the Yezidi elders.

Drawing attention to the importance of a joint defence force, Zeki Şengali stated that as the KCK they would continue to provide all manner of support to the people in Sinjar and to the Sinjar resistance forces.
