Heavy clashes between YPG and ISIS

Heavy clashes between YPG and ISIS

Severe clashes have been taking place across West Kurdistan as YPG (People's Protection Units) are expanding operations against inhuman gangs now calling themselves the Islamic State.

YPG Press Centre has reported in a written statement on Monday that clashes took place between YPG fighters and ISIS gangs in Serêkaniye, Heseke and Jazaa on 14 September.
According to the statement, YPG fighters carried out an action against ISIS gangs deployed near the village of Getashê to the west of Kobanê 14 September night. A vehicle of the gangs was destroyed in the YPG action while the number of casualties couldn't be clarified.
YPG forces carried out another action in the west Serêkaniye region where they destroyed 3 vehicles of the gang groups and a water storage they used.
ISIS gangs on the other hand attempted to flow into a village in the town of Jazaa which had been taken by YPG forces after witnessing heavy clashes early September. Gangs were repulsed from the village as YPG fighters immediately responded to the radical groups.
Islamic State gangs also attempted to enter the city of Heseke, from two different locations, the neighborhoods of Ferîla and Xwêran, on Sunday evening. YPG fighters inflicted a heavy blow on gangs whom they repulsed from the area and made suffer casualties.
Inhuman gangs affiliated to the Islamic State also carried out an attack in the town of Rabia of Mosul city which came under the control of YPG forces after the withdrawal of the Iraqi army first and the peshmerga later.
Clashes broke out in the town as YPG fighters strongly responded to the attack last night, forcing gangs to flee from the area.
On the other hand, ISIS gangs have started a new wave of mortar and howitzer attacks in west and south Kobanê yesterday evening.
The attacks, which targeted the Zaxros Hill and the villages of Hacı İsmaila, Mishko, Derbazine, Cibil Ferac in west Kobanê, and the Martyr Xabur hill in the south, are reported to be continuing.
