Sources report that forces loyal to Abu Mohammad al-Jolani released approximately 200 ISIS prisoners from al-Kasrah prison in the Deir ez-Zor countryside, raising serious security concerns in eastern Syria. At the same time, Turkish intelligence and the Jolani-led regime are reportedly coordinating the mobilization of Arab tribes across Syria in preparation for a multi-front offensive against the Kurdish-led SDF and US forces. According to the source, tribes were told that if the United States halts Syrian regime advances against the SDF, they will be expected to continue fighting both the SDF and US troops. The source further claims that Turkish military personnel fluent in Arabic, along with Jolani’s commanders, are disguising themselves as local tribal fighters while preparing attacks from up to 11 fronts, including the Al-Tanf area. In Rojava, Kurdish officials say the core issue is growing pressure from US envoy Tom Barrack, who they accuse of aligning with Turkish and Qatari demands for full Kurdish integration into jihadist-dominated forces. Kurdish sources warn this would effectively hand control of regional resources and ISIS detainees to extremist factions, destabilizing the entire region. The SDF has already withdrawn from areas west of the Euphrates, Kurdish sources say, leaving no justification for continued attacks east of the river. Separately, Syrian army forces and allied militias reportedly captured US-made Humvees previously used by SDF units in eastern Syria.
