Obviously, Swedish taxpayers should not compensate for the Iranian dictatorship and the ayatolls military industrial complexes that dominate the Iranian economy for the losses of new US sanctions imposed on them.

The EU can not compensate Iran
The EU is expected Monday to repeat that it is up to the nuclear agreement with Iran that the United States wants to tear up. However, the EU can not give the country financial compensation equivalent to losses caused by US sanctions, said EU and Trade Minister Ann Linde.

"We will never be able to give Iran money they would have received from export business. It is absolutely impossible, said EU Minister Ann Linde (S) during a debate on Friday.

Iran has demanded replacement guarantees that correspond to the economic loss expected to be due to the United States imposing sanctions on the country. According to Ann Linde, it is impossible for the EU to provide such guarantees.

In an attempt to save the nuclear agreement with which the EU was negotiating and negotiating, the Commission has proposed a series of support measures for Iran and the European companies operating there. But it is about limited support from the European Investment Bank EIB and calls to EU countries to send money to the Iranian central bank.

Up to companies to decide on Iran business

In order to make it easier for European companies to continue trading with Iran, the Commission also wants to update an earlier blocking regulation that simply makes it impossible for European companies to comply with US sanctions.

According to Ann Linde, this is no guarantee that companies continue to do business in the country. It is up to the companies themselves to make decisions and they are likely to suffer from US sanctions, as most business deals take place in dollars through US banks and institutes.

- There will be a cross strike. Companies will get very big problems, said Linde.

The EU and Trade Minister recalled that Swedish companies withdraw their business in Iran when sanctions were introduced last. Since the sanctions were abolished in 2015, Swedish exports to Iran have doubled, but it is still not at the same level as before the previous sanctions.

Wallström warns of nuclear weapons

How the EU is to save the nuclear agreement with Iran is the big issue of Monday's meeting with foreign ministers in Brussels.

Ministers are expected to follow their Heads of State and Government and the Commission's top management and continue to support the core agreement with Iran.

Sweden's Foreign Minister, Margot Wallström, has extremely serious consequences if the agreement is to fall.

"If this fails, the risk is great for Iran to say, then we acquire nuclear weapons, and in turn, Saudi Arabia wants to do it and it makes an already uncertain region much more dangerous," said Margot Wallström (S) on his way to today's meeting .
