Russia Putin signs a new law allowing Russian military to protect Russians from prosecution by foreign courts.

 

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed legislation authorizing the deployment of the Russian Armed Forces abroad to safeguard Russian citizens facing arrest, criminal prosecution, or detention by foreign or international courts.

The law applies to judicial actions initiated by foreign states or international tribunals not recognized by Moscow, such as the International Criminal Court, (ICC)

Russian lawmakers framed the bill as a necessary defense against 'unfriendly' Western states, which they allege to have transformed the judiciary into a weapon against Russian citizens.

According to the stand of the law ,Putin has been granted full discretion to authorize state bodies and the military to take protective actions both within and beyond Russia's borders. The law was passed by the State Duma on May 13 and signed into effect on May 25, with an official effective date set for 10 days after its publication.

Me: How can this be possible, can Russia sent their military to US or Europe if any of their citizens were held there ?
