The US Department of Justice announced the arrest of Iraqi Kataib Hezbollah leader Mohammed Baqir al-Saadi and his transfer to the United States.

The Department quoted Acting US Attorney Todd Blanch as saying that, according to the complaint, al-Saadi directed and incited others to attack US and Israeli interests and to kill Americans and Jews both inside and outside the United States, in furtherance of the terrorist objectives of Kataib Hezbollah and the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
