A dangerous disease has claimed the lives of prisoners in Iran. It is monkeypox, or a more dangerous version of this virus, and prisoners in Iran are in urgent need of treatment.

Health conditions in Greater Tehran Prison (Fashafouyeh) are reportedly deteriorating due to severe overcrowding and lack of medical care. Reports indicate that scabies, a highly contagious parasitic skin disease, is spreading among prisoners in unsanitary and overcrowded conditions.

Prisoners reportedly lack access to adequate treatment, doctors, and basic hygiene measures needed to contain the outbreak. Health experts warn that without urgent action, the situation could lead to serious infections and long-term harm to prisoners’ physical and mental health.

Immediate medical attention and proper sanitation measures are urgently needed
