 On the Day of Remembrance for the fallen of the israel systems, as in previous years, I place tefillin in memory of one of our heroes who fell for our hope and freedom.

 

 

This year also I met with the rabbi messenger, Rabbi Or Ziv, who brought with him the Tefillin. Each time of another warrior, of a beloved son, of a hero israel Every year, a different story. Another heart. A whole world.

This year I got to place the Tefillin of our heroes Sean Carmeli RIP.

Sean, a lone soldier who came from the United States to protect our country israel has chosen to tie his fate to the fate of our people. Out of deep faith, out of mission. He fell in battle in Gaza - but his spirit lives on in us, in the heart of the nation.

When I put his fillin on, I feel the deep connection between the generations. Between a tradition of thousands of years and the heroism of today. Between a plowing prayer and an act of devotion there is nothing above him.

At this moment, with the strips extinct on the hand and heart, I carry a silent prayer in his memory, in memory of all our fallen, and for the future of our people in this country.

ביום הזיכרון לחללי מערכות ישראל, כמו בשנים קודמות, אני מניח תפילין לזכרו של אחד מגיבורינו שנפלו למען תקומתנו וחירותנו.

גם השנה נפגשתי עם שליח הרבי, הרב אור זיו, שהביא עימו את התפילין. בכל פעם של לוחם אחר, של בן אהוב, של גיבור ישראל. בכל שנה, סיפור אחר. לב אחר. עולם ומלואו.

השנה זכיתי להניח את התפילין של גיבורינו שון כרמלי ז״ל.

שון, לוחם בודד שהגיע מארצות הברית כדי להגן על מדינת ישראל, בחר לקשור את גורלו בגורל עמנו. מתוך אמונה עמוקה, מתוך שליחות. הוא נפל בקרב בעזה – אך רוחו ממשיכה לחיות בנו, בלב האומה.

כשאני מניח את התפילין שלו, אני חש את הקשר העמוק בין הדורות. בין מסורת של אלפי שנים לבין הגבורה של ימינו. בין תפילה חרישית לבין מעשה של מסירות נפש שאין למעלה ממנו.

ברגע הזה, עם הרצועות הנכרכות על היד והלב, אני נושא תפילה שקטה לזכרו, לזכר כל חללינו, ולמען עתיד עמנו בארץ הזו.

״וְרָאוּ כָּל־עַמֵּי הָאָרֶץ כִּי שֵׁם השם נִקְרָא עָלֶיךָ וְיָרְאוּ מִמֶּךָּ״
