Hedieh, who was arrested on January 8, was only in the custody of security institutions for 6 days. After this short period, his lifeless body was handed over to his family while the clear and horrific effects of physical torture were visible everywhere on his body.
However, in a repeated scenario to deny responsibility, the relevant institutions have announced the cause of death of the 17-year-old teenager as "heart attack"; A claim that, given the physical condition of her body and the lack of any medical history, seems to be just a futile attempt to cover up a state murder.
This incident has once again exposed the catastrophic state of the Islamic Republic’s detention centers and the systematic violation of human rights, especially against children and adolescents, before the public. Hedeya Khodari is another example of a generation that receives its demands with an iron fist and in interrogation rooms.

The Committee for the Release of Political Prisoners condemns in the strongest terms the suspicious death of Hedeya Khodari in detention and calls for the truth to be clarified through an independent, transparent and impartial investigation. گزارش‌های تکان‌دهنده از سرنوشت «هدیه خدری»، نوجوان ۱۷ ساله‌ای که در جریان بازداشت توسط نیروهای امنیتی جان باخت، پرده از ابعاد جدیدی از خشونت سیستماتیک علیه معترضان برمی‌دارد.
هدیه که در تاریخ ۱۸ دی‌ماه بازداشت شده بود، تنها ۶ روز در اختیار نهادهای امنیتی قرار داشت. پس از این مدت کوتاه، پیکر بی‌جان او در حالی به خانواده‌اش تحویل داده شد که آثار صریح و وحشتناک شکنجه‌های جسمی بر جای‌جای بدنش مشهود بود.

کمیته آزادی زندانیان سیاسی با شدیدترین لحن، مرگ مشکوک هدیه خدری در بازداشت را محکوم می‌کنیم و خواستار روشن‌شدن حقیقت از طریق یک بررسی مستقل، شفاف و بی‌طرف هستیم. مسئولیت حفظ جان و کرامت افراد در بازداشت بر عهده نهادهای ذی‌ربط است و هرگونه تخلف باید پاسخگو شود. از همه نهادهای مسئول می‌خواهیم با احترام به حقوق انسانی و حاکمیت قانون، زمینه پاسخگویی و عدالت را فراهم کنند.
