The situation on Qeshm Island in Iran is critical, as the island has been struck by repeated military air and missile attacks in early November 2026. If the term "explorations" refers to tourism or travel, all such activities on the island are strongly discouraged at this time due to the ongoing military conflict in the Strait of Hormuz.

 

According to the latest official reports and independent news media, the situation is as follows:
• New missile attacks (November 7, 2026): Iranian state media (including IRNA and Tasnim) report that two missiles struck the Suza area on Qeshm Island on Saturday morning. Witnesses reported hearing aircraft over the island prior to the explosions. U.S. President Donald Trump has subsequently confirmed that U.S. forces carried out targeted military operations against Iranian air defense systems near the island.
• Previous air strikes (November 2–3, 2026): The island was also struck earlier in the week, when five consecutive explosions shook the strategic island. The U.S. Department of Defense has confirmed that American combat aircraft bombed military targets on the island ahead of the U.S. midterm elections.
• Downing of a drone: The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claims to have shot down a U.S. MQ-1 "Predator" drone in the airspace over Qeshm Island during the night leading into Saturday. Furthermore, there are reports of naval mines in the surrounding waters. Safety recommendation:
Due to active combat operations, missile strikes, and air raids, Qeshm Island is currently an active war zone. All forms of civilian travel, nature-based activities, or geological exploration on the island are impossible and pose a mortal danger.On the morning of Friday, November 6 (Aban 16), a municipal bulldozer struck a 16-inch gas transmission pipeline supplying Fars Province, triggering an explosion and fire on Andisheh Boulevard in Gachsaran.

Citing the Deputy Governor of Gachsaran, IRNA reported that the incident occurred during municipal construction work and resulted in no casualties. According to the official, the gas supply was immediately shut off; however, the fire is expected to persist until the gas remaining within the pipeline has completely burned off.

Peyman Khezraei, CEO of the Iranian Gas Transmission Company, stated that the stability of the gas network has been maintained through adjustments to the transmission line configuration and timely operational interventions. He added that specialized response teams arrived at the scene, secured the area, and have commenced repairs on the damaged section of the pipeline.
