Cansu Özdemir and Zara Miro, two representatives of The Left Party (Die Linke) in the German Federal Parliament (Bundestag), have protested the reinstatement of a death sentence against Kurdish political prisoner Warisheh Moradi and called for her immediate release.

Cansu Özdemir, a Left Party member of the Bundestag representing Hamburg, wrote on the social media platform X: "The Iranian regime seeks to silence the voice of 'Jin, Jiyan, Azadî' [Woman, Life, Freedom] by issuing death sentences."

Referring to the reinstatement of the death sentence against Warisheh Moradi, she added: "While the world talks about Iran, political prisoners are being forgotten." She concluded her message with the slogan: "Freedom for Warisheh Moradi!"

Zara Miro, another Left Party member of the Bundestag—representing the state of Baden-Württemberg—also condemned the reinstatement of the death sentence in an Instagram post, writing: "Sentenced to death twice—simply because she refuses to remain silent."

She emphasized: "The Iranian regime attempts to silence women's resistance through violence and the issuance of death sentences; however, our solidarity knows no national borders."

Calling for the annulment of the death sentence and the immediate release of Warisheh Moradi, Miro urged her audience to support the political prisoner by joining an Amnesty International campaign.

Warisheh Moradi, a native of Sanandaj and a member of the Free Women's Society of Eastern Kurdistan (KJAR), was arrested on July 31, 2023 (Mordad 10, 1402). She was detained at the entrance to Sanandaj while returning from Kermanshah, following an operation involving gunfire and violence by agents of the Ministry of Intelligence. Following 13 days of detention in Sanandaj, she was transferred to the detention center of Ward 209 at Evin Prison in Tehran, where she was subjected to pressure and torture to extract forced confessions. After spending five months in solitary confinement, she was moved to the women’s ward of Evin Prison.

In November 2024, Branch 15 of the Tehran Islamic Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Abolghasem Salavati, sentenced this political prisoner to death. In December 2025, the Supreme Court overturned this verdict, citing flaws in the investigation and a failure to observe legal procedures. Nevertheless, Branch 15 of the Tehran Islamic Revolutionary Court—without addressing the shortcomings identified by the Supreme Court—once again sentenced Warisheh Moradi to death on the charge of "membership in a rebellious group" (*baghi*). This new verdict was communicated to her lawyers on October, 2026.

ناوبراو جەختی کرد: ڕێژیمی ئێران هەوڵ دەدات بە توندوتیژی و دەرکردنی حوکمی ئێعدام، خۆڕاگری ژنان بێدەنگ بکات، بەڵام هاوپشتیی ئێمە لە سنووری وڵاتاندا سنووردار نییە.

میرۆ داوای هەڵوەشاندنەوەی سزای لەسێدارەدان و ئازادکردنی دەستبەجێی ڤاریشە مورادی کرد و داوای لە ئامادەبووانی کرد کە بەشداری کەمپەینی ڕێکخراوی لێبوردنی نێودەوڵەتی بکەن بۆ پشتگیریکردن لەم زیندانییە سیاسییە.

ڤاریشە مورادی، خەڵکی شاری سنە و ئەندامی کۆمەڵەی ژنانی ئازادی ڕۆژهەڵاتی کوردستان (کەجار)، ڕۆژی ١ی پووشپەڕی ساڵی ١٤٠٢ لە دەروازەی دەروازەی سنە لەلایەن هێزەکانی وەزارەتی ئیتلاعاتەوە، بە تەقە و توندوتیژی، لە کاتی گەڕانەوەی لە کرماشانەوە دەستبەسەر کرا. دوای ١٣ ڕۆژ دەستبەسەری لە شاری سنە، گواسترایەوە بۆ گرتووخانەی ٢٠٩ی زیندانی ئێڤینی تاران و بۆ دەرهێنانی دانپێدانانی زۆرەملێ گوشار و ئەشکەنجەی لەسەر کرا. دوای پێنج مانگ لە زیندانی تاکەکەسی، گواسترایەوە بۆ بەشی ژنان لە زیندانی ئێڤین.

لقی ١٥ی دادگای ئینقلابی ئیسلامیی تاران بە سەرۆکایەتی دادوەر ئەبولغاسم سەلەواتی لە تشرینی دووەمی ساڵی ١٤٠٣دا حوکمی لەسێدارەدانی بۆ ئەم زیندانییە سیاسییە سەپاند.ئەم حوکمە لە دیسەمبەری ساڵی ١٤٠٤ بە هۆی نەبوونی بەدواداچوون و ڕەچاونەکردنی ڕێکارە یاساییەکان لەلایەن دادگای باڵاوە هەڵوەشێنرایەوە. بەڵام لقی ١٥ی دادگای ئینقلابی ئیسلامیی تاران، بەبێ یەکلاکردنەوەی ئەو پرسانەی کە دادگای باڵا ئاماژەی پێکرد، جارێکی دیکە بە تۆمەتی “ئەندامبوون لە گرووپێکی یاخیبوو” حوکمی ئێعدامی بەسەر ڤاریشە مورادیدا سەپاند. سزا نوێیەکە لە ١٢ی تشرینی یەکەمی ١٤٠٥دا پارێزەرەکانی ئاگادارکرایەوە.

 Cansu Özdemir und Sahra Mirow, zwei Bundestagsabgeordnete der Partei #DieLinke, haben gegen das erneute Todesurteil gegen die kurdische politische Gefangene #VerishehMoradi protestiert und ihre Freilassung gefordert.

Özdemir schrieb auf X: „Das iranische Regime will die Stimmen von ‚#JinJiyanAzadî mit Todesurteilen zum Schweigen bringen.“ Sie warnte zudem, dass politische Gefangene in Vergessenheit geraten.

Mirow schrieb auf Instagram: „Zweimal zum Tode verurteilt. Weil sie sich nicht zum Schweigen bringen lässt.“ Sie betonte außerdem: „Das iranische Regime versucht, den Widerstand von Frauen mit Gewalt und Todesurteilen zum Schweigen zu bringen.“ Mirow forderte die Aufhebung des Todesurteils und die sofortige Freilassung von Verisheh Moradi.

Verisheh Moradi, Mitglied der Gemeinschaft der Freien Frauen Ostkurdistans (KJAR), wurde im August 2023 festgenommen. Während ihrer Haft wurde sie gefoltert und unter Druck gesetzt, um ein Geständnis zu erzwingen. Im November 2024 wurde sie zum Tode verurteilt. Obwohl der Oberste Gerichtshof das Urteil wegen rechtlicher Mängel aufgehoben hatte, verurteilte das Revolutionsgericht in Teheran sie vor wenigen Tagen erneut zum Tode.⁩
