 Rozhan Ebrahimi, a 20-year-old Kurdish woman and mixed martial arts (MMA) athlete from Saqqez, attempted suicide following her arrest and persistent threats and pressure from the Intelligence Department to collaborate with security forces. Fortunately, her family intervened in time, and after five days of hospitalization, she survived.

Behind this news, however, lies a harrowing account of what this young woman has endured.

On October 3 (Mehr 11), agents from the Intelligence Department raided Rozhan’s home and arrested her without a judicial warrant. She was eventually released on bail; however, according to human rights organizations, her mobile phone, SIM card, and Instagram account remained in the possession of the security forces.

According to these reports, the agents used Rozhan’s personal account to send messages to political activists abroad, while simultaneously pressuring her to assist in identifying and entrapping these individuals.

Human rights sources indicate that she was subjected to various forms of pressure—including threats of fabricated legal cases, heavy prison sentences, re-arrest, and torture—which ultimately drove her to attempt to end her own life.

Although Rozhan survived, this incident once again highlights how the Islamic Republic’s security apparatus exerts pressure on citizens, pushing them to the brink of suicide in an effort to coerce them into collaboration.

Rozhan deserves to live in safety—free from the shadow of threats, detention, and coercion to collaborate.
Rozhan Ebrahimi has the right to live, to pursue her sports, to hold dreams, and to exist without fear.

 The pressure and repression exerted by the security apparatus of the clerical regime have claimed another victim; the health and life of Rojan Ebrahimi, a 20-year-old MMA athlete from Saqqez, have been jeopardized as a result of systematic pressure and unlawful detention.

Rojan was arrested after agents from the Ministry of Intelligence raided her home and was subsequently taken to an undisclosed location. Following her temporary release, she was subjected to such intense psychological pressure and severe threats that she was driven to attempt suicide, requiring several days of medical care in a hospital. Security forces even seized her social media accounts and created fake profiles using her identity.

Remaining silent in the face of these atrocities is tantamount to complicity with the regime’s machinery of repression. Let us be a voice for Rojan—please share this tragedy. ✊🚩

بەپێی ئەم ڕاپۆرتانە، بریکارەکان ئەکاونتی تایبەتی ڕۆژانیان بەکارهێناوە بۆ ناردنی پەیام بۆ چالاکوانانی سیاسی لە دەرەوەی وڵات و لە هەمان کاتدا فشاریان خستۆتە سەری کە هاوکاری بکات لە ناسینەوە و تەڵەکردنی ئەو چالاکوانانە.

هەڕەشەی تۆمەتی تاوانکاری، سزای قورس، دووبارە دەستگیرکردنەوە و ئەشکەنجەدان بەشێک بوون لەو فشارانەی کە سەرچاوەکانی مافی مرۆڤ دەڵێن لەسەر ئەم ژنە گەنجە خراوەتە سەر؛ فشارەکان کە لە کۆتاییدا وای لێکرد ژیانی خۆی ببات.

ڕۆژان ڕزگاری بوو، بەڵام ئەم ڕووداوە جارێکی دیکە نیشانی دا کە چۆن سیستەمی ئەمنی کۆماری ئیسلامی فشار دەخاتە سەر هاووڵاتییان تا ڕادەی خۆکوشتن بۆ قبوڵکردنی هاوکاری.

ژیانی ڕۆژان دەبێ بە سەلامەتی بەردەوام بێت؛ نەک لە ژێر سێبەری هەڕەشە و گرتن و فشار بۆ هاوکاریکردن.
