On Monday, October 23 (Mehr 27), Mohammad Kazem Al-e Sadeq, Iran’s ambassador to Iraq, stated in a post on the social media platform X that Tehran and Baghdad have agreed to either expel Kurdish opposition groups from the Kurdistan Region or extradite them to Iran.

This claim by Al-e Sadeq was made despite the fact that the office of Iraq’s National Security Advisor, in a statement regarding the October 19 meeting, mentioned only the discussion of unresolved issues and the strengthening of security coordination between Baghdad, Erbil, and Tehran.

The statement made no reference to any agreement regarding the expulsion of Kurdish opposition groups or their handover to Iran.

🔻 Mohammad Kazem Al-Sadegh, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s ambassador to Iraq, claimed that Tehran and Baghdad—within the framework of security cooperation—have reached an agreement regarding the expulsion of members of "Rojhelat" (Iranian Kurdish) parties from the Kurdistan Region, or their handover to Iran.

🔻 According to the Iranian ambassador, this agreement was reached during a meeting of the joint security committee, attended by an Iranian delegation and Iraq’s National Security Advisor.

🔻 However, the details of this agreement and the manner of its implementation have not yet been independently verified. Some assessments suggest the possibility of increased restrictions on members of these parties and the relocation of their camps to other parts of Iraq; yet, the ultimate fate of these individuals remains uncertain.

 

 Kurdistan National Union (KNU) President Bafel Talabani said Monday that they want to run a similar project for Iranian Kurds in Turkey. Talabani says the process will be somewhat different and long, but it will be successful.

Meanwhile, Khalid Azizi, spokesman for the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran (KDP), told Rudaw that they do not see the ground for talks with the Islamic Republic of Iran, but did not hide that they are ready to listen.Mohammad Kazem Al-Sadeq, Iran’s ambassador to Baghdad, claimed on Tuesday, October 20, that Iraq has agreed to either expel Iranian Kurdish opposition groups based in the Kurdistan Region from its territory or hand them over to Tehran.

In a post on the social media platform X, Al-Sadeq wrote: "Within the framework of security cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Iraq, the two sides—during a meeting of the joint security committee, attended by an Iranian delegation and Iraq’s National Security Advisor—agreed that members of Iranian separatist terrorist groups should be expelled from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq or handed over to Iran."

These remarks followed a meeting on Monday of the joint committee overseeing the implementation of the security agreement between Baghdad and Tehran. The meeting was chaired by Qasim al-Aboudi, Iraq’s National Security Advisor, and was attended by Iranian officials as well as a delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).

According to the office of Iraq’s National Security Advisor, the meeting addressed unresolved issues identified in previous discussions, as well as ways to strengthen security coordination between Baghdad, Erbil, and Tehran.

A statement from the office noted: "The objective is to bolster mechanisms for cooperation and coordination among the federal government, the Kurdistan Regional Government, and the Iranian side, in order to ultimately arrive at practical solutions that facilitate the implementation of the agreement's provisions and the realization of its goals."

هاوکات هەر ئەمرۆ، خاڵید عەزیزی وتەبێژی حیزبی دیموکراتی کوردستانی ئێران بە کەناڵی رووداوی راگەیاند، ئێستا زەمینە بۆ گفتوگۆکردن لەگەڵ کۆماری ئیسلامی ئێران بە گونجاو نابینن، بەڵام نایشارێتەوە کە ئەگەر لایەنی ئێرانی داوا بکات، ئەوان ئامادەن گوێیان لێبگرن.

ئەم قسانە دوای کۆبوونەوەی ڕۆژی دووشەممەی لیژنەی هاوبەشی سەرپەرشتیکردنی جێبەجێکردنی ڕێککەوتنی ئەمنی بەغدا و تاران هات. کۆبوونەوەکە بە سەرپەرشتی قاسم ئەلعەبودی، ڕاوێژکاری ئاسایشی نیشتمانی عێراق بەڕێوەچوو و بەرپرسانی ئێرانی و هەروەها شاندێکی حکومەتی هەرێمی کوردستان ئامادەی بوون.

بەپێی نووسینگەی ڕاوێژکاری ئاسایشی نیشتمانی عێراق، لە کۆبوونەوەکەدا باس لە کێشە چارەسەرنەکراوەکان کرا کە لە گفتوگۆکانی پێشوودا دەستنیشانکرابوون، هەروەها ڕێگاکانی بەهێزکردنی هەماهەنگی ئەمنی نێوان بەغدا و هەولێر و تاران.

لە ڕاگەیەندراوێکی نووسینگەکەدا ئاماژە بەوەکراوە: "ئامانج پتەوکردنی میکانیزمەکانی هاریکاری و هەماهەنگییە لە نێوان حکومەتی فیدراڵی و حکومەتی هەرێمی کوردستان و لایەنی ئێرانی، بەمەبەستی ئەوەی لە کۆتاییدا بگەنە چارەسەری کردەیی کە کارئاسانی بۆ جێبەجێکردنی بڕگەکانی ڕێککەوتنەکە و بەدیهێنانی ئامانجەکانی بکات".
