 Since her arrest, an individual named Shokouh Karimi—who appears to be linked to the Islamic Republic's security forces—has engaged in a smear campaign against the detained physician on social media. This behavior implies only one thing: despite having been a friend of Dr. Salehian until recently, Karimi is now spreading falsehoods and attempting to mislead public opinion.According to Hangaw, Bayan Salehian, a 43-year-old endocrinologist from Saqiz and a resident of Urmia, was violently arrested by Iranian army intelligence forces and taken to an unknown location.

The incident occurred on Sunday (September 27, 2026), when security forces raided his private home, searched the place, confiscated his mobile phone and laptop, and beat and violently arrested him. The reason for the arrest, the charges against him and his whereabouts are still unknown.
