#Vida_Rabbani, a journalist and former political prisoner, posted pictures of her severely injured body on her Instagram page, saying that her husband Hamid Reza Amiri had subjected her to domestic violence and had violently seized her house, car and jewelry using the powers of attorney he had given her since her imprisonment.
She posted a video showing her husband, his friend Hamid Mashayekhi and a police officer forcibly closing the door of Vida Rabbani’s house. The journalist said her husband did this after “several beatings.”
“This is my husband, the one who took advantage of my imprisonment and looted my property and belongings, 40 days ago he kicked me out of my house, which I paid for myself, and told the judge that 50 days ago I deposited 19 million for my wife, the one who sold my gold and car and took the money,” Rabbani wrote. Vida Rabbani said her husband, using the power of attorney he had given her from prison, had even refused to grant a divorce they had previously agreed upon and had even taken out a loan in her name by forging signatures.
“There should be no silence about domestic violence. Don’t be silent. This silence has only led to more suffering and violence against us women,” Rabbani wrote.
