Ali Mohammadi, the political deputy of the IRGC Navy, stated on Saturday, September 26, that in the event of another war, the scope of Iran's attacks would not be limited to the waters surrounding the Strait of Hormuz; he added that American vessels and destroyers would be targeted even in the Indian Ocean.
Mohammadi also dismissed US claims regarding control over the Strait of Hormuz, challenging Washington to bring one of its aircraft carriers into the area if it truly controls the waterway.
The IRGC has previously threatened to target US vessels in the region.
In recent days, other military officials from the Islamic Republic of Iran have also spoken—in separate statements—about the possibility of the conflict expanding to the Indian Ocean.
These remarks were made in response to statements by US officials on Friday, September 25, asserting that Washington holds full control over the Strait of Hormuz.

ئەم لێدوانانە لە وەڵامی لێدوانی بەرپرسانی ئەمەریکا لە ڕۆژی هەینی ٢٥ی تشرینی یەکەمدا دراون کە ڕایانگەیاندووە کە واشنتۆن کۆنترۆڵی تەواوی گەرووی هورموزی کردووە.
