An informed source told Iran International that the death sentence of Mozhdeh Hashemi Bazargani—a 27-year-old Red Crescent employee currently held in Qazvin Central Prison—has been upheld by the Supreme Court of the Islamic Republic. According to the source, Hashemi Bazargani was denied the right to a lawyer of her own choosing during the legal proceedings.

An informed source told Iran International that the death sentence of Mozhdeh Hashemi Bazargani—a 27-year-old Red Crescent employee currently held in Qazvin Central Prison—has been upheld by the Supreme Court of the Islamic Republic. According to the source, Hashemi Bazargani was denied the right to a lawyer of her own choosing during the legal proceedings.

 

In an earlier audio message from Qazvin Prison, Hashemi Bazargani had reported being beaten and tortured during her arrest and interrogation, as well as being pressured to make a forced confession.
In the audio message, she stated that security agents raided her home at 2:30 AM on April 4, 2026 [Farvardin 15, 1405], using an angle grinder to force their way in. She recounted that following her arrest, she was beaten with pipes and batons on her head, neck, and shoulders during lengthy interrogations; the assault resulted in two broken teeth and caused her to suffer from dizziness, shortness of breath, and heart problems.
She said that despite visible bruising and injuries, no medical professional came to examine her for a full week, and her requests to be transferred to the Legal Medicine Organization to document the signs of the beating and torture went unanswered.
Hashemi Bazargani also spoke of the pressure exerted by interrogators to force a confession, adding: "They are pinning a thousand charges on me... They are forcing me to write down and sign whatever they dictate." According to him, interrogators beat him while he was blindfolded and produced a video—using selectively edited clips of his remarks during interrogation—to portray him as a "terrorist."
Hashemi Bazargani stated that he was accused of offenses such as "espionage" and "receiving funds from abroad," and that footage of his "confessions" was broadcast on the Qazvin provincial channel without his knowledge or consent.
In another part of the audio message, referring to his repeated transfers for interrogation and his fear of further torture, he said: "I am trembling all over... every day I tell myself, 'They are coming to take me away again.'"
According to an informed source speaking to Iran International, Hashemi Bazargani’s physical and mental condition is poor; the stress of his detention has caused him to suffer seizures and lose consciousness on several occasions, requiring hospitalization. The source added that he was returned to prison after a partial recovery.
In his audio message, Hashemi Bazargani also expressed concern about the situation of his elderly, ailing mother in the city of Alvand, noting that she had been left alone without a caregiver following his arrest.

لە پەیامە دەنگییەکەدا ئاماژەی بەوەشکردووە، کاتژمێر ٢:٣٠ خولەکی بەیانی ڕۆژی ١٥ی نیسانی ٢٠٢١، ئەفسەرانی ئەمنی هەڵیانکوتایە سەر ماڵەکەی و ئامێری بڕینی ئاسنیان بەکارهێناوە بۆ چوونە ناو ماڵەکە. به وته ی هاشمی بازغانی، دوای ده ستگیرکردنی، له کاتی لێپرسینه وه ی درێژخایهندا به بۆری و دار له سه ڕ سه ڕ و مل و شانه کانی دراوه و به ڕاده یه ک دوو ددانی شکاوه و تووشی سه ڕگێژخواردن و هه ناسه ته نگی و کێشه ی دڵ بووه .
باسی لەوەشکرد، سەرەڕای کێشان و برینەکان، بۆ ماوەی هەفتەیەک پزیشکێک نەهاتووە پشکنینی بۆ بکات، داواکارییەکانیشی بۆ گواستنەوەی بۆ پزیشکی دادوەری بۆ تۆمارکردنی نیشانەکانی لێدان و ئەشکەنجەدان بەهەمان شێوە بێ وەڵام ماونەتەوە.
هاشمی بازرگان هەروەها باسی لە فشاری لێکۆڵەران کرد بۆ ناچارکردنی دانپێدانانی و دەشڵێت: "هەزار تۆمەتم بەسەردا دەچەمێنن... بە زۆر پێم دەڵێن هەرچیمان وت دەبێت بنووسیت و واژۆ بکەیت".
بە وتەی ناوبراو، لێکۆڵەرەکان لەکاتی چاوبەستراودا لێیانداوە و بە پچڕاندنی گفتوگۆکانی لەکاتی لێکۆڵینەوەکەدا، گرتەیەکی ڤیدیۆیییان دروستکردووە بۆ ئەوەی بە "تیرۆریست" بناسێنن.
هاشمی بازرگان باسی لەوەشکرد، تۆمەتەکانی لەوان "سیخوڕی" و "وەرگرتنی پارە لە دەرەوەی وڵات" بۆ ئەو گەڕێنراونەتەوە، هەروەها گرتە ڤیدیۆییەکانی دانپێدانانەکانی لە تەلەفزیۆنی پارێزگای قەزڤین بەبێ ئاگاداری و ڕەزامەندی ئەو پەخشکراون.
لە بەشێکی دیکەی پەیامە دەنگییەکەدا، ئاماژەی بە گواستنەوەی دووبارە بۆ لێپرسینەوە و نیگەرانییەکانی لە دووبارەبوونەوەی ئەشکەنجەدان کرد و وتی: "هەموو بوونم دەلەرزێت... هەموو ڕۆژێک دەڵێم، 'جارێکی دیکە دەمبەنەوە'."
بەگوێرەی سەرچاوەیەکی ئاگادار بۆ ئێران ئینتەرناشناڵ، باری جەستەیی و دەروونی هاشمی بازگەنجەر باش نییە، هەروەها چەند جارێک تووشی گرژبوون و بێهۆشبوون بووە و بەهۆی فشارەکانی دەستبەسەرکردنییەوە لە نەخۆشخانە خەوێندراوە. ئەو سەرچاوەیە ئاماژەی بەوەشکرد، هاشمی بازگەنجەر دوای چاکبوونەوەی بەشەکی گەڕێنرایەوە بۆ زیندان.
هەروەها هاشمی بازگەنجەر لە پەیامە دەنگییەکەیدا نیگەرانی خۆی لە بارودۆخی دایکە بەساڵاچوو و نەخۆشەکەی لە ئەلوەند دەربڕی و ڕایگەیاند، دوای دەستگیرکردنی دایکی بە تەنیا ماوەتەوە و هیچ کەسێک ئاگاداری نەبێت.
