The Kurdistan Freedom Life Party (PJAK) has announced that Sirwan Habibi, a member of the party, has been arrested by government forces in the city of Cameroon.

According to the PJAK statement, Sirwan Habibi was arrested as a result of an operation and his fate remains unknown after several days.

The PJAK announced the arrest in an official statement.

Arrest of a PJAK commander in Kamyaran and his transfer to an undisclosed location

The "PJAK" group has announced that Sirvan Habibi, one of its commanders, was arrested by Islamic Republic security forces in the city of Kamyaran.

According to a statement by PJAK, the arrest took place on Wednesday, September 9 (Shahrivar 18), during a pre-planned operation by forces from the Ministry of Intelligence. PJAK further claimed that Habibi was beaten during his arrest and subsequently transferred to an undisclosed location.

In its statement, the armed group asserted that Habibi was unarmed at the time of his arrest and had traveled to Kamyaran to conduct what it termed "organizational activities." PJAK also called on human rights organizations to inquire about his whereabouts and condition, holding the Islamic Republic responsible for any potential harm that might befall him.The Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) issued a statement regarding its member, who was detained by Iranian regime forces on September 9, 2026, in the city of Kamyaran in Rojhilatê (Eastern) Kurdistan.

The PJAK statement said: “On Wednesday, September 9, 2026, our comrade and party member Sîrwan Hebîbî was abducted in the city of Kamyaran in Rojhilatê Kurdistan as a result of a pre-planned trap by security forces of the Intelligence Ministry of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He was subjected to an attack that was in violation of international law and was extremely brutal and inhumane; he was tortured and subjected to violence.“Immediately after being detained, Hebîbî was taken to an unknown location, and despite the time that has passed, no information has been obtained about his health or where he is being held. When our comrade Sîrwan Hebîbî was detained, he was not carrying any weapons or other equipment; he had only visited the city of Kamyaran to carry out his duties and organizational activities.”

The statement added: “In the face of the serious threats to the well-being of our comrade Sîrwan Hebîbî, we call on the people of Rojhilatê Kurdistan, all pro-freedom civil activists in Iran and around the world, and human rights organizations to urgently, carefully and effectively investigate his fate and take a position against these actions.

The authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran are responsible for the life and health of our member Sîrwan Hebîbî.”

In a recent statement, the Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK) announced the arrest of one of its members, Sirwan Habibi, in the city of Kamyaran. According to the statement, security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran—acting with premeditation and violence—assaulted and tortured Habibi before taking him into custody on Wednesday, Shahrivar 18, 1405 (Solar Hijri calendar).

PJAK emphasized that Habibi was unarmed and carrying no specific equipment at the time of his arrest; he had traveled to Kamyaran solely to carry out organizational duties. The party further stated that following his arrest, he was transferred to an unknown location, and there is currently no information regarding his health status or whereabouts.

In the remainder of the statement, PJAK called upon the community of Rojhelat (Eastern Kurdistan), civil society activists, and human rights organizations—both within Iran and globally—to urgently and effectively pursue the matter of Sirwan Habibi’s fate. On Wednesday, Shahrivar 18, 1405, in the city of Kamyaran (Eastern Kurdistan), Sirwan Habibi—a comrade and member of our party—was subjected to a brutal, inhumane assault and torture in violation of all international standards, before being arrested. This occurred as a result of a premeditated ambush by the security and repressive forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence." Following his arrest during this repressive crackdown, he was immediately abducted to an undisclosed location; despite the passage of time, there is still no information regarding his health status or place of detention. It is worth noting that our comrade, Sirvan Habibi, was not carrying any weapons or tools at the time of his arrest; he had traveled to the city of Kamyaran solely to carry out organizational duties and tasks.

Given the serious risks surrounding the situation of our comrade Sirvan Habibi, we call upon the society of Eastern Kurdistan, all freedom-seekers, civil society activists, and human rights organizations—both within Iran and globally—to follow his case with urgency and concern, and to oppose such actions. Furthermore, we hold the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran fully responsible for any danger, harm, or threat to the life of our party member, Sirvan Habibi.
