Political woman prisoners assaulted in Gebze Prison.

Three political woman prisoners in Gebze M Type Prison were subjected to an assault by prison officers for objecting to the recording of their weekly visits with their families.

According to the reports by the families of three woman prisoners, discussion broke out between the inmates and prison officers who recorded the meeting of political prisoners and their families on the visit day. The three women were assaulted by around 30 officers and taken back to their ward when they reacted against the arbitrary treatment.

Families said the prison administration arbitrarily denied the inmates their right to visit, reducing the weekly 10 hours to 2,5 hours.
